Diabetes mellitus (DM) is the leading cause of kidney failure in India. Approximately one-half of people who need dialysis have kidney disease from diabetes. The Nephrology Dept. provides comprehensive medical care utilizing a team approach which includes nephrologists, certified nurse practitioners, dedicated nursing staff, renal and diabetic dietitians, etc.
